Itinerary
Durango
Arrive in Durango to pick up your tickets at the train station (open till 7:00pm) and then proceed to your hotel (please check in after 3 PM). Snow has blanketed the mountains and ski season is officially here! Ski, board, snowshoe...or sit by the fire! So much to do both on and off the snow. Overnight at the Holiday Inn or similar downtown hotel in Durango.

Durango to Cascade Canyon and return
A brisk 5 block walk to the train station sets up your unforgettable trip on the Durango & Silverton Railroad. The "ALL ABOARD" call and two blows of the whistle signals that your journey is starting. The Winter Cascade Canyon Excursion is our roundtrip run from Durango to Cascade Canyon along the scenic and remote Animas River. This excursion will leave you with breathtaking memories of the San Juan National Forest winter landscapes for years to come. Make sure to keep an ear open for the sound of the train whistle signaling your departure from Cascade Canyon and the restful trip back to Durango. Upon arriving, this memorable tour comes to a close.
