The Overland pioneered inter-capital rail travel between two of Australia's most cosmopolitan cities; Melbourne and Adelaide, in 1887. The century old name was derived from the affectionate term, "Overlander"' an adventurer who had traveled across the country.
Today, this historic train continues to provide a convenient and comfortable way to travel between these two cities. The Overland offers Daylight Service between Adelaide, the gateway to many of Australia's best wine producing regions including the Barossa Valley, Clare Valley and McLaren Vale, and Melbourne, home to many international sporting events, outstanding shopping and entertainment.
Prices are in Australian currency and do not include taxes, fee's or fuel surcharges. Prices are subject to change without notice. Red Premium Service fares based on per person rates sharing a twin sleeper, and includes meals.
