Payment: We require a credit card to guarantee your reservation, while awaiting full payment by check. Should RailsNW NOT receive payment within ten business days, we will charge your card the full amount of the trip, plus an administrative fee of $35 per person. Additionally, you will need to return the booking form accepting the trip arrangements and costing.
Changes and Cancellations: Reservations are fully refundable up to 45 days before departure, at which point reservations are non-refundable or changeable, except in the case of trip cancellation by RailsNW or Amtrak.
Travel Insurance: Travel Insurance is required for this special excursion. Purchase through us for 7% of the total trip cost or furnish proof of coverage.
Smoking Policy: No smoking is permitted on the train. Hotel rooms may have limited smoking capacity.
Luggage: Carry-on only. No luggage handlers or porters will be available
Handicapped accessibility: No handicapped accessible facilities
Lodging:
All requests will be communicated to hotels but we cannot guarantee location, bedding, or any other room requests. Guests are responsible for any damage to rooms and all incidentals charged to room.
Mileage Collectors:
We give a strong warning to the mileage collector. Itinerary and route changes do happen, sometimes quite often. We will not know the exact routing of this trip until very close to the time of departure. In booking this trip, you are accepting the possibility of change and the uncertainly of your exact trip details.
Note: RailsNW is only acting as your agent in making this trip possible, and assumes no responsibility or liability for problems of any kind involving the train, accommodations, busses or any other component of this trip which are outside of our immediate control. Furthermore, we retain the right to substitute equipment, change the itinerary as needed, or to cancel the trip all together if we need to because of safety, contractual or any other situation which might arise in advance or during the trip. Additionally, RailsNW retains the right to surcharge passengers up to a maximum of 20% of the amount originally paid, should the final expenses come in higher than estimated. Should we need to apply a surcharge, you will be notified in writing of the amount charged and revised trip total.
While we don't anticipate needing to apply a surcharge, anything is possible when working with special excursion trips. We have found in the past most passengers want to make the trip, even if the final price comes in a little higher than estimated. If you are uncomfortable booking something that isn't guaranteed until the day of departure, we strongly recommend not booking passage on this, or any special train excursion as they are highly susceptible to changes in price and schedule.
