Alice Springs is located in the Northern Territory of Australia and is the second-largest settlement in the Territory. The only other towns of significant size are Darwin, the capital, and Katherine. Popularly described as "the Alice" or simply "Alice," Alice Springs is known as Mparntwe to its traditional inhabitants, the Arrernte. Alice Springs is almost equidistant between Darwin and Adelaide.

Alice Springs is best-known because of its proximity to Uluru (Ayers Rock), the monolithic rock that is one of Australia's best-known natural landmarks and an important focus of Aboriginal culture.

The Great Aussie Outback Discovery
9 days / 8 night
The Great Aussie Outback Discovery
This fantastic tour starts in the heart of what we call ‘The Red Centre.’ Browse Aboriginal art and sample classic outback life. After a good night’s sleep, discover spectacular Kings Canyon - the most botanically rich region in all of arid Australia. Then there’s the world famous Uluru (Ayers Rock) and the awe inspiring Kata Tjuta (Olgas). Then head north, and explore Katherine or even take a tour of the stunning Katherine Gorge (additional cost) before continuing on to Darwin - the gateway to the many natural wonders of ‘The Top End’. You’ll discover the beautiful waterfalls of Litchfield National Park, the surrounding monsoon rainforest, a 23,000 year old Aboriginal rock art sight, the historic mining settlement of Pine Creek, and of course the World Heritage Listed Kakadu National Park. You’ll visit areas of the well-worn track, even Gunlom Falls - made famous as Echo Pool in the movie ‘Crocodile Dundee. [more information]
