Board The Legendary Ghan in Adelaide just in time for dinner on board, then head north overnight. Enjoy a beautiful desert sunrise in the morning before arriving in the Northern Territory and the town of Alice Springs. From aboriginal art displays to the spectacular natural wonders of Kings Canyon, this region has something for everyone. There’s a wonderful Rim Walk through the beehive like domes and oases of vegetation to explore the many unusual features of the Watarrka National Park before moving on to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and an afternoon tour to Kata Tjuta where you’ll enjoy the spectacular color change on the domes of Kata Tjuta at sunset with a glass of champagne.

Another option is to choose the award winning Sounds of Silence dinner (additional cost) where you’ll be escorted to a private, secluded sand dune while the sound of a lone Didjeridu echoes across the desert. There’s champagne and canapés while the sun sets over Uluru and Kata Tjuta before feasting on an array of the region’s culinary delights and star gazing (weather permitting) with the resident astrologer.

Come morning, you can walk one of the oldest walking tracks on Earth around the base of Uluru. After the sunrise has transformed Uluru into shimmering red, you can relax at the base of this majestic monolith with your picnic breakfast and absorb the solitude. Naturally, your guides will share the incredible ecology and mystical ancestral stories of the region to make your time here even more memorable before heading back to Ayers Rock Resort.
