Itinerary
Detailed day by day information
Day 1: Anchorage
Arrive in Alaska’s largest city Anchorage on your own and explore. A modern city surrounded by spectacular wilderness with adventures just steps from the hotel, Anchorage has plenty to offer. Home to Alaska's largest selection of quality Alaska Native art and souvenirs such as finely crafted ivory, Native masks, and carved jade, you’ll find abundant opportunities to shop; and with access to some of the freshest seafood in the world, you can enjoy plump, cold-water Kachemak Bay oysters, Alaska king crab, fresh-caught halibut, or wild Alaska salmon – the staple of Alaska seafood, for your evening meal. Anchorage has it all! And no sales tax! Spend the night in downtown Anchorage.

Day 2: Anchorage to Kenai Peninsula
Head to the Kenai Peninsula by motorcoach for some unbelievable fishing, spectacular scenery and Alaska hospitality. The peninsula extends approximately 150 miles (240 km) southwest from the Chugach Mountains, south of Anchorage. It is separated from the mainland on the west by the Cook Inlet and on the east by the Prince William Sound. Afterward, travel by coach to Cooper Landing and enjoy dinner and overnight at Kenai Riverside Lodge.

Day 3: Kenai Peninsula
Hike, go rafting, relax, view wildlife, or fish for trout as you explore the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and Chugach National Forest. The litany of place names found in the Chugach National Forest reads like an adventurer's honor roll—there's the Kenai Peninsula, where anglers wrestle with 70-pound salmon; there's Prince William Sound, held in awe by sea kayakers and whale watchers; there are the powder-draped spires of the Chugach Range outside of Valdez, worshipped by fearless skiers and snowboarders; there's even a road, the Seward Highway, that's often singled out as one of the all-time great scenic drives. Nearly two million acres in size, Kenai National Wildlife Refuge is characterized by its diverse habitats and wildlife. Due to this variety, the Refuge is considered by many visitors to represent Alaska in miniature. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and lodging included.

Day 4: Kenai Peninsula to Seward

Enjoy a hearty breakfast, and then travel by coach to Seward for the Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise, Alaska’s most popular wildlife and glacier cruise! Kenai Fjords National Park boasts abundant wildlife, alpine and tidewater glaciers. Tours are fully narrated by an accredited wildlife interpreter and include a visit to the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge – home to a large variety of whales, sea lions, sea otters and more. Overnight in Seward.

Day 5: Seward
Spend a full day fishing with Charter Options and fish for halibut, salmon, ling cod or rockfish. Fish filleting and lunch included. For a little extra, opt for a day cruise with Major Marine Tours. Stay overnight in Seward.

Day 6: Seward to Anchorage
In the morning, visit the Alaska SeaLife Center, a non-profit marine science facility dedicated to understanding and maintaining the integrity of the marine ecosystem of Alaska through research, rehabilitation and public education. The Center's research facilities and naturalistic exhibits immerse visitors in the dynamic marine ecosystems of Alaska. Afterward, spend the afternoon on the Real Alaska Tour, includes: dog sled ride, lunch at an Alaskan roadhouse, and Exit Glacier tour in the early afternoon. Board the Coastal Classic Train for your journey to Anchorage in the evening. Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 7: Anchorage
Journey by floatplane to Riversong Lodge and experience some of the world's best fishing in Alaska’s backcountry, only minutes away from Anchorage by floatplane. Get in on the action - from fighting king and silver salmon to feisty trout and grayling. Includes fishing gear, hearty lunch, and hotel shuttle. Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 8: Anchorage to Talkeetna
Board the Denali Star Train in the morning for your trip to Talkeetna. Fish a half day with Denali Anglers on the glacial fed rivers of the Susitna Valley; shallow, clear streams and deep holes make for some of the finest fishing in Alaska. Overnight at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge.

Day 9: Talkeetna to Denali
Fly over the summit of majestic Mt. McKinley before taking the train to Denali mid-morning. With six million acres, Denali National Park & Preserve is larger than Massachusetts. Located in the heart of Alaska’s magnificent and rugged interior, the park is home to majestic Mt. McKinley, North America’s highest mountain. The Park also features glaciers, a sub-arctic ecosystem and an internationally designated biosphere preserve with moose, caribou, Dall sheep, grizzly bears and wolves. Overnight in Denali.

Day 10: Denali to Fairbanks
Take the morning Tundra Wilderness Tour and travel some 60 miles into the wilderness of Denali National Park and the heart of bear country. On the fully-guided Denali Tundra Wilderness Tour, you’ll get interpretation from your driver/guide, along with hours of wildlife spotting and spectacular scenery. If the weather cooperates, you’ll see Mount McKinley up close. Afterward, depart for Fairbanks by train in the afternoon. Overnight in Fairbanks.

This Tour Includes: 9 nights hotel accommodations. This tour is not escorted and does not include meals.
