Throughout the course of our trip, The Rocky Mountaineer® takes you in comfort and luxury to the renowned destinations of the Canadian Rockies world. Below are the cities you can visit.
Vancouver

Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Coast Mountain Range, Vancouver is a jewel of a city. The city's unique geographical location has earned it the reputation as a playground for all ages with activities ranging from rainforest walks and ocean kayaking, to skiing and golfing, all done against awe-inspiring, natural backdrops.

From the 1,000-acre lush gem known as Stanley Park, to the chic and fashionable Robson Street, Vancouver is a city of unparalleled beauty and diversity. Its vibrant, pedestrian-friendly streets are filled with individuals of varied ethnic backgrounds and walks of life: people-watchers, shoppers, celebrities, business people, university students, and, of course, visitors.

Vancouver is the western hub for most of our tour packages. Before or after your rail journey, Vancouver is the perfect stop on your great escape.

Toronto
Long before it was the massive urban center it is today, Toronto, Huron for 'meeting place', was an important trading hub. Still living up to its name, Canada's largest and most cosmopolitan city is a meeting place of cultures, business, and art. Located along the northern shore of Lake Ontario, Toronto mirrors New York City and consists of what was once five separate cities - Etobicoke, North York, York, Scarborough, Toronto, and the borough of East York. The area was annexed into the City of Toronto in 1998, but the areas are still often referred to by their former names and maintain a unique flavor. A self-proclaimed 'Megacity,' visitors to this metropolitan center will surely never run out of things to do, see, or buy.

Lake Louise
In 1882, guided by a Stoney Indian, Tom Wilson became the first white man to discover what native Indians called "Lake of Little Fishes". He named his discovery Emerald Lake, but it was later changed by the Geographic Board to Lake Louise in honor of Princess Louise Caroline Alberta, fourth daughter of Queen Victoria.

Lake Louise, with its blue-green water set against the stark backdrop of Victoria Glacier, is probably the most beloved and most photographed scene in the Canadian Rockies. International royalty, Hollywood stars, and heads of state have come to Lake Louise to relax, and the rest of the world is discovering its simple charms as well. Romantic and relaxing, the pace in Lake Louise attracts people who want to savor the finer things of life; a good book in front of a fireplace, the stillness of the outdoors, or a quiet walk after dinner. The Chateau Lake Louise presents lake-side views of the towering Victoria Glacier, offering old-world charm and elegance amidst the wilderness. The lower village of Lake Louise holds an array of fine dining, first class accommodations, and shopping. A scenic drive will bring visitors to the awe-inspiring Moraine Lake.
