-----------------------------------------

Trips begin on

Fridays

El Paso to Chihuahua
Depart El Paso by bus. Buses leave hourly throughout the day and it is a five hour transfer time. (Transfer from airport, bus station, or El Paso area hotel are all accommodated to the bus depot.) Upon arriving in Chihuahua you will be met by an English speaking driver who will transfer you to your hotel for the evening. If you arrive in Chihuahua early enough, take some time to explore the city and take in the sights of this historic location.

Chihuahua to Creel
Your day begins bright and early at 5:15 am as you are transferred from your hotel to the train station to board the First Class ChePe train bound for Creel. Upon arriving, you will be transferred to your hotel. Later, you will enjoy a tour of the town, and visit majestic places like the Arareko Lake, Mushroom Valley, The Mission, Tarahumara Caves, and other interesting sites.

We highly recommend the two-day extension to Batopilas - a thrilling journey to the bottom of the canyon.

Creel
Today you will have time to further explore Creel on your own. Creel is the shopping and trading center for the region, offering everything from handmade musical instruments to pottery and jewelry. Creel is also the tourism center of the region, with optional trips to the famous Cusarare waterfall, Basihuare Canyon, the Mission, La Bufa Canyon, and the Recohuata Thermal Springs.

Note: If you are interested in extending your already magnificent journey by traveling to the canyon floor please click here for information about the Batopilas Extension.

Creel to Divisadero
Enjoy a leisurely morning where you have time to do some shopping and sightseeing before catching the 11:26 am train to Divisadero. Upon arriving in Divisadero, transfer to your canyon hotel for the evening. The lodge is situated near the rim of the mighty Urique Canyon, providing wonderful views that extend for miles. Optional side trips available in the area include canyon tours, horseback riding, jeep tours and helicopter rides. We recommend upgrading to the Posada Mirador Hotel, which is situated on the rim of the canyon. The hotels in Divisadero all provide views which overlook the mighty Urique Canyon.

The views of the three Canyons that comprise Copper Canyon make Divisadero ("The Divide") an unforgettable stop on your trip across the mountains. This area is four times larger than the Grand Canyon and gives visitors many memorable vistas of this pristine mountain wilderness.

Dinner is included at the hotel.

Divisadero to Bahuichivo/ Cerocahui
Enjoy Breakfast and Lunch at the hotel. Plenty of time this morning for walking tours on your own to different view points, or other optional activities. At around 1 pm you will be driven by van to Bahuichivo, which usually takes about two hours. The jumping off spot of passengers heading to Cerocahui - the most beautiful mountain village in the state. For the next two nights you will be staying in the charming town of Cerocahui, and at the amazing Hotel Mision. With the rooms nestled amongst the vineyard, and a sparkling little pool beckoning you for a dip. We suggest that you relax, unwind and enjoy.

Dinner is included at the hotel.

Cerocahui
After breakfast, you can take a breathtaking bus tour of the region. After lunch, you are free to explore the area on your own or participate in one of the many exciting activities offered by the hotel at a modest fee. Our recommendation is a good book and a dip in the sparking pool at the hotel, or a visit to the girls school that is adjacent to the hotel.

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included at hotel.

Cerocahui to Los Mochis
Following breakfast at the hotel, you have a fantastic morning tour to the Gallego Lookout. Lunch is included at the hotel before you return to Bahuichivo and re-board the ChePe for the incredible trip down the mountain. This portion of the trip is undoubtedly some of the most scenic, as you descend nearly 5300 feet through rugged mountains and deep canyons. Keep your camera handy - you will need it. The train is scheduled to arrive in Los Mochis at approximately 10:25 pm. You will be transferred to your Los Mochis hotel upon arriving.

Los Mochis to Mazatlan
Today you will be picked up from your hotel by a private driver, and driven to the bus station. Where he/she will make sure you get on one of the many First Class and comfortable buses for your interesting and comfortable five hour trip to Mazatlan. Once there, you will be driven to your hotel or resort by one of our drivers. Please let us know if you need hotel lodging in or around Mazatlan.
