This tour begins at the Seavey homestead, a summer training site for 2004 Iditarod Champion, Mitch Seavey, and several other Iditarod mushers.
Here you will enter the world of sled dogs. Visit with their 70 Alaskan Huskies and travel along a 2-mile trail to the base of Resurrection Mountain with your musher who narrates the ride. Learn more about the Iditarod during the demonstration of the unusual arctic equipment and clothing. Pose for photos with sled dogs and hold husky puppies.
Break for a hearty 45-minute lunch at an Alaskan Roadhouse, and then head down one of the most scenic roadways to Exit Glacier. Enjoy a short stroll through the woods for an up close look at the glacier. Spend some time on your own exploring downtown Seward before you depart Seward by rail.
