The Calumet Club was built by Pullman in 1918 as a coach car and then rebuilt in 1948 into a 40-seat lounge car, with comfortable easy chairs. The City of New Orleans club cars were made immortal in the second verse of Steve Goodman's eponymous song: "Dealing cards with the old men in the club car, penny a point there ain't no one keepin' score...."
