Your Journey
Detailed information
An old fashioned coastal resort with plenty of charm and character. A delightful and very popular old coastal town, Whitstable is famous for oysters and seafood but also for a growing contemporary arts scene. With fisherman's huts and pretty weatherboard cottages, in streets with eccentric names such as "Squeeze Gut Alley" Whitstable has plenty of charm and character. Rejoicing in its maritime heritage, Whitstable celebrates with the famous summer Oyster Festival in July each year.

Brunch with Bellini is served on your outward journey. On arrival at Canterbury West you will be met by your guide for the short coach transfer to Whitstable (about 30 minutes) where you are free to explore this charming seaside resort for a few hours. There is a coach transfer back to Canterbury West to rejoin the British Pullman for your return journey to London Victoria. A glass of chilled champagne is served as soon as you board the train. This is followed by a delicious four course meal accompanied by half a bottle of wine.

Rail News & Updates

The Orient-Express
The British Pullman takes its name from George Mortimer Pullman, an American, who in 1864 built The Pioneer, the first railway carriage designed with true comfort for the passenger. The later creation of the Pullman Car Company in 1882 led to his domination of luxury train travel in Britain from that time onwards.
