Detailed day by day information
Day 1: Cumberland
Arrive at your leisure to picturesque Cumberland, MD. Hotel check-in is any time after 3:00 pm. Overnight at the Holiday Inn, a short walk from century old streets lined with boutiques, galleries, and cafes.
Day 2: Cumberland to Frostburg to Cumberland
Your train departs today at 11:30 AM for a relaxing roundtrip ride to Frostburg, climbing 1300 feet behind a 1916 Baldwin 2-8-0 steam locomotive or a restored diesel engine. Please be ready at the station at Canal Place at 10:45 AM. In Frostburg, visit the Thrasher Carriage Museum and watch the engine reverse direction on the turntable. Arrive back to Cumberland at 3:00 PM.
