Reservations: While every effort will be made to book the train, departure time, type of seating, hotels and/or bus arrangements as requested, we reserve the right to book alternate space as needed. Advance reservations are required for rides in October. Amtrak ticket arrangements are subject to current availability and schedule may be adjusted to meet daily needs.
First Class Services: First Class seating is available weekends May-Oct and requires 7 days advance notice. First Class includes lunch and gratuity; there is a $15 charge for children under 2 who are not eating lunch. First Class cars have an extremely limited number of seats and generally sell out months before the actual departure. For that reason, we will automatically book you into Coach seating should First Class space not be available for your travel date.
Handicap: Some services feature wheelchair lifts. Please notify the reservations staff at the time of your reservation that you use a wheelchair, and reserve at least seven days in advance.
Children: Kids under 2 can travel for free without occupying a seat.
Amtrak: For all reservations containing Amtrak tickets, please note that a valid US issued photo ID is required upon boarding for all adults. Cumberland, MD is an unstaffed station, and baggage is limited to 2 checked pieces per person. Your Amtrak tickets have no replacement value, please treat them with care as you would cash.
Terms and Conditions: All West Maryland Scenic Railroad tickets are non-refundable, but may be rescheduled within a year's time for a $10 per person change fee if 14 days notice is given. Packages are subject to 25% change or cancellation fee ($35 minimum per person) and 30 days notice is required.
