Itinerary
Detailed day by day information
Yosemite Valley Option
We are offering an option to spend the day in Yosemite National Park during the wintertime. Those folks that choose this option will detrain at Merced in the San Joaquin Valley at 10:31am and travel by charter motorcoach to Yosemite Valley. The balance of the day is yours to explore Yosemite Valley in winter conditions which is spectacular. We will have you back at Amtrak's Merced Depot to reboard our dome cars at 6:49pm. This will give you about 4 hours in Yosemite Valley to enjoy the park.

Snowmobiling Option
We have another exciting option for those folks that would like to go snowmobiling high into the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and up to Ebbets Pass at 8732 feet. This option will detrain at Modesto at 9:49am and be transported by vans up to Bear Valley Ski Resort in the High Sierra. At Bear Valley we get our snowmobiles and ride on Highway 4 which is closed in the winter for the journey into the high country. During the winter months Highway 4 is groomed all the way to Ebbets Pass. This area offers incredible views of some of the most rugged countryside in the state. The hidden beauty and adventure of the remote Sierra is made easily accessible to you by snowmobile. Later in the day we reboard our dome cars in Modesto at 7:27pm. You will have some 4 hours of snowmobiling into the backcountry. We estimate you will ride some 50 miles on the snowmobiles today.
