Full day charter on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad with a steam photo freight out of Cumberland, Maryland with photo run-bys. Steam locomotive 734, a 2-8-0 will be used. Starts and ends in Cumberland, Maryland
Tuesday May 13:
This is a travel day for our clients to drive from Cumberland to Cass, West Virginia.
Wednesday May 14: (L-D)
This tour starts today in in Cass, West Virginia and lodging also included tonight in Elkins, West Virginia. Charter steam exursion on the Cass Scenic Railroad out of Cass, West Virginia running first to Bald Knob and return then on to Spruce with plenty of photo run-bys. We then transfer to our waiting charter on the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad which will take us to the connecting point with the West Virginia Central who will then take us to Elkins. Here we will spend the night at the Holiday Inn Express. Dinner and special railroad show included tonight. Today we will use more than one steam locomotive from the Cass of which they have six geared locomotives, including Shays and a Heisler. Also we will use a Climax type steam locomotive on the Durban & Greenbrier Valley plus several classic diesels , most painted in the Western Maryland's famous speedball lettering paint scheme to include a BL-2, FA and F units.
Thursday May 15: (B-L)
Today we reboard our charter for the return run over the West Virginia Central, Durbin & Greenbrier Valley and Cass Railroads , Elkins to Cass, West Virginia using different motive power with photo run-bys. Today's excursion ends in Cass, West Virginia where everyone has parked their car.
Friday May 16: (D)
You will have most of the day to drive from Cass to Parkersburg, West Virgnia. Late afternoon we all meet at the Parkersburg depot and board our charter train using the Potomac Eagle Dinner Train equipment. We will spend the evening onboard riding the rails and enjoying a first class dinner. The evening will include a night photo session. Motive power available for our charter and photo session includes B&O painted GP 9, Chessie painted GP 9, C&O painted F 3 and Potomac Eagle painted F 7.
Saturday May 17: (L)
Full day charter onboard the Potomac Eagle passenger train out of Parkersburg, West Virginia running on the South Branch Valley Railroad with plenty of photo run-bys. One of our charters will be made up to look like the Detroit section of C&O's George Washington. Today's excursions starts and ends in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
Sunday May 18: (L)
Today we will have a photo mixed freight using South Branch Valley motive power out of Parkersburg. The consist will be some older classic freight cars, a combine, a baggage car , and caboose.
