Vermont Fall Colors Rail Explorer
4 days / 3 nights

Fall colors in Vermont, there is nothing like it anyplace else in the United States. The best way to see mother nature in all her colorful splendor is by private charter. We invite you to join us for a spectacular four day rail cruise through Vermont in New England during the fall colors. This four day excursion runnining over the Vermont Railway and Green Mountain Railroad will present to you some of the most awesome scenery in New England. The mountains and countryside are covered in blazing color that signals winter is again approaching. Each day on our rail cruise we will make stops at historic villages along the route and for the rail photographers we will make daily photo run-bys too!
Itinerary
Detailed day by day information
Tuesday October 7: (L)
Our charter passenger train departs from Burlington, Vermont on the shores of Lake Champlain at 8am for the southbound journey to Rutland. Today we will be running on the Vermont Railway. As we travel towards Rutland we will make several stops in small Vermont villages to give you the opportunity to explore the New England way of life. Upon arrival in Rutland we will transfer to you your hotel. Unpack your bag and relax, as you will have the same hotel room for the next three nights.

Wednesday October 8: CB-L)
In the morning we return to the train station in Rutland and reboard our train and continue our southbound trek to Bennington. Here you will have time to explore this town while our crew runs the motive power around the train and prepares to return north towards Rutland. Once the whistle blows to call all passengers back to the train we start the northbound trip back to Rutland. Again, you will have the same hotel room in Rutland for the night. As time permits we will also make stops at other villages along the railroad. We will be running over the rails of the Vermont Railway all day.

Thursday October 9: (CB-L)
We transfer you back to the train and today we head out of Rutland running in a southeast direction towards the Green Mountains and on the Green Mountain Railroad. We will run our train to the historic town of Ludlow where you will have enough time to explore the town. Again, our crew will run the motive power around our train and be all ready to depart for the return trip to Rutland. During the course of the day we will also make several other stops at rustic small Vermont villages along our route. Once we arrive back in Rutland we will transfer you back to your hotel for your last night.

Friday October 10: (CB-L)
As we depart Rutland onboard our charter train we head northbound for the run back to Burlington with a planned arrival of 5pm. Again we will make some stops today on our journey back north.
