Steam Returns To La Veta Pass In Colorado!
This will be a new twist to our 2008 La Veta Pass excursions. We have had quite a number of our railfans ask us to tie up the train at La Veta and return the Alamosa the next day. So, by popular demand this photo freight excurison will run from Alamosa to the small town of La Veta pulled by Baldwin 1744 and of course the day packed full of photo run-bys. We will then transport the group by vans to Walenburg for hotel check-in, which is only 15 miles east of La Veta. On May 4 we will bring you back to the train at La Veta and make the return journey to Alamosa, again packing in as many photo run-bys as possible. This excursion is limited to 30 railfans only.

We see No. 1744 pulling an excursion train on the Heber Valley Railroad some 32 years ago.
