Great Britain Steam Adventure
9 days / 8 nights

This tour will visit some of the most popular steam operated railroads and historical museums in the south of England. For those folks that are booking on The Great Britian-UK by private train you can join up with this tour, as both tours are linked together in London.

Detailed day by day information
Wednesday June 25:
Independent arrivals in London and hotel check-in.

Thursday June 26: (L-D)
We depart from London Victoria Station at 9:03am and arrive Sittingbourne at 10:02am. Visit of the Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway and board our charter steam special pulled by Brazil, a class 0-4-2sT Kerr Stuart. Then we travel by charter bus to Bredgar to visit the Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway with a steam charter over their line. We reboard our bus to go to Ashford for lodging.

Friday June 27: (B-L-D)
In the morning to travel by bus to Tenterden to visit the Colonel Stephens Railway Museum. Next we visit the Kent and East Sussex Railway including a ride over the system including a workshop visit. In the afternoon you will have plenty of time to walk out on the line and catch the steam trains. On Friday they run 5 trains. Late afternoon we visit nearby Bodiam Castle before boarding a Pullman dinner train for dinner. After our dinner train we transfer to Hythe for lodging.

Saturday June 28: (B-L-D)
Today we ride the famous RH&DR 381 mm gauge line to New Romney with our own charter. At New Romney you can visit the old historic lighthouse before our return. Also we will have a workshop tour. Mid afternoon we travel by bus to Appledore to board a regular train to Hastings connecting with another train to Tunbridge Wells and hotel check-in.

Sunday June 29: (B-D)
Morning visit to the Spa Valley Railway and ride the regular museum train to Groombridge and return. In the afternoon we will use our bus to lineside the museum trains to Isfield. Next we pay a visit to the Lavender Line and ride our charter steam train. Late afternoon we return to Turnbridge Wells back to our hotel.

Monday June 30: (B-D)
In the morning by bus to Sheffield Park station to visit the Bluebell Railway. Before boarding the regular steam train we visit the station and workshops. In the afternoon we will lineside for photos. We then travel by regular train from Haywoods to Haslemere and hotel check-in.

Tuesday July 1: (B-L-D)
In the morning by bus to Alton to visit the Watercrest Line and ride the regular steam excursion to Alresford. On the way back to Alton we can use our bus for linesiding. We then travel by bus and ferry to Fishbourne and a visit to the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. We will ride the regular steam excursion from Smallbrook Junction to Wootton. Overnight lodging in Sandown.

Wednesday July 2: (B-L)
In the morning we ride on the lightrail to Ryde and then by bus to Yarmouth to catch the ferry on to Lymington Pier. Then we catch a regular train to Wareham. Again on our bus to Norden where we visit the Swanage Railway. A steam train ride and linesiding will be offered. We then catch a regular train for the return journey to London and hotel check-in.

Thursday July 3:
Independent departures and end of tour.
