Eastbound Itinerary
Vancouver Arrival
Arrive in Vancouver and spend time exploring this beautiful city on your own. Admission to the Vancouver Observation Deck at Harbour Centre with fantastic views of the city, mountains and ocean is included. Overnight in Vancouver.

Vancouver to Kamloops
Travel aboard the Rocky Mountaineer® from the western city of Vancouver to Kamloops in the heart of British Columbia. On the day’s journey you will experience dramatic changes in scenery, from the rich green fields of the Fraser River Valley, through forests and rugged river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains, to the arid environment of the interior. Highlights include the fast-moving waters of Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the rugged slopes and rock sheds of Thompson River. Your day ends as the Rocky Mountaineer® travels along the shores of Kamloops Lake into your overnight destination, Kamloops.

Kamloops to Jasper
Your trip continues north and east to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Again you will find yourself surrounded by dramatic scenery as you follow the banks of the North Thompson River through the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains, climbing ever higher to the majestic peaks of the Continental Divide. The day’s highlights include: Mount Robson, the tallest peak in the Canadian Rockies at 3,954 metres (12,972 feet); Pyramid Falls; as well as the climb over the Yellowhead Pass into Jasper National Park. Your journey concludes upon arrival in the resort town of Jasper in the evening. Overnight in Jasper.

Jasper to Quesnel
Travel aboard the Rocky Mountaineer® from the mountain resort of Jasper in the Canadian Rockies to the charming rural town of Quesnel, gateway to the North Cariboo. Pass through the Rocky Mountain Trench with the majestic Rocky and Cariboo Mountains on each side, and on to the rolling hills and vast forests of British Columbia's northern interior, home to abundant wildlife. Highlights include Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Yellowhead Pass, Moose Lake, and the opportunity to see the abundant wildlife found in this unspoiled wilderness region. Your day ends as the Rocky Mountaineer® follows the Fraser River into Quesnel, your overnight destination.

Quesnel to Whistler
Your journey continues south to the four-season resort of Whistler. Enjoy breathtaking and diverse scenery, from the desert-like conditions of the Fraser Canyon and the Cariboo Plateau with its rolling hills and vast ranchlands, to the river canyons and fertile farmland of the Pemberton Valley. Highlights include sweeping views of the Fraser Canyon and Deep Creek Bridge, one the highest railway bridges in the world, and the shorelines of Anderson Lake and glacial-fed Seton Lake. Your rail journey concludes upon arrival in the resort town of Whistler Village, future host of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games alpine events.

Whistler to Vancouver
Travel aboard the Whistler Mountaineer® from the alpine village of Whistler to the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver. Following your motorcoach transfer from Whistler Village, embark on your rail journey through the fabulous scenery of this “Sea to Sky” region. Highlights of the trip include Cheakamus Canyon, the domed peak of Mount Garibaldi, Shannon Falls, and the fantastic views of Howe Sound and the Coast Mountains. Upon arrival at the North Vancouver train station, you will be transferred to your overnight accommodation in downtown Vancouver. A light meal is served onboard.
