Detailed day by day information
Los Mochis to El Fuerte
Upon arriving in Los Mochis, you will be transported to the historic town El Fuerte for a relaxing and quiet evening at Hotel La Choza or upgrade to Posada Del Hidelgo, a first class hotel.

El Fuerte to Divisadero
Your rail odyssey begins aboard the first class "ChePe" train at 9:05 am. Today you travel to Divisadero. Between El Fuerte and Divisadero lies the most scenic railroad in the Northern Hemisphere, if not the world!

This line took 111 years to complete due to the financial hurtles caused in part by mountainous terrain and rugged canyons. By the time the railroad was completed in 1961, more than 200 trestles/bridges and 87 tunnels were built. The railroad climbs more than 8,000 feet to crest the mighty Sierra Madre Mountains.

Following an unforgettable day aboard the ChePe, arrive in Divisadero in the early afternoon and check into the famous Mansion Tarahumara Hotel. The lodge is a destination resort, offering fantastic recreational opportunities as well as great views of the valley below, or consider upgrading to the Posada Mirador with canyon-side views.

The Great Urique Canyon is only a few strenuous steps away. Broader, deeper and more magnificent than the Grand Canyon, the Great Urique Canyon defies description. After getting back from a hike to the lookout, why not relax at the indoor pool and Jacuzzi before dinner? After dinner, you are free to mingle with friends, walk the lighted path to the rim, or take a dip in the Jacuzzi. We highly recommend spending an extra day in Divisadero, one night is not enough! (Dinner)

Divisadero to Los Mochis
After lunch, re-board the "ChePe" for the trip down the mountain. The canyons, cliffs, and cascading waterfalls are simply stunning. On this trip the lighting will be from the West, providing you with a much different prospective than the trip to Divisadero. Upon arriving Los Mochis, you will be transferred to your hotel for a night of reflection and relaxation. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Los Mochis
Your Copper Canyon adventure comes to a close this morning as you check out of the hotel and are transported to the airport for your flight.
