Day 1: Vancouver - Kamloops - The Canyons
This morning we depart Vancouver, on board our private
train for Kamloops, some 250 miles away. We follow
Burrard Inlet then enter the Lower Fraser River and later
Thompson River Canyons before our evening arrival in
Kamloops. Transfer to the Executive Inn for dinner and
overnight. All three meals included.
Day 2: Kamloops - Revelstoke - The Lakes
After breakfast join the Spirit of Kamloops heritage train
for a short excursion. On returning to Kamloops rejoin our
train and continue our journey into the Rockies, pausing at
Craigellachie, where the last spike was driven to complete
the Trans-Continental rail link on the 7th of November,
1885. We have a private visit to the Railway Museum in Revelstoke and stay overnight nearby. All three meals included.
Day 3: Revelstoke - Lake Louise - The Rockies
From Revelstoke we climb through Rogers Pass in Glacier National Park and pause in the town of Golden. On leaving we pass Lake Wapata and follow the Kicking Horse River through two spiral tunnels as we climb to the continental divide, where we pass from British Columbia to Alberta. We descend to Lake Louise where we spend two nights. All three meals included.
Day 4: Lake Louise
A day to visit the Columbia Icefields and drive the Icefields Railway. Breakfast and lunch included.
Day 5: Lake Louise – Calgary – Down to the Prairies
A morning tour of Lake Louise before rejoining the train for the final leg of our journey as we run down to the Prairies and Calgary. On arrival tour ends
