Cottonwood
Check into the Best Western Cottonwood Inn after 3:00 pm and enjoy a swim in the heated outdoor pool, relax in the hot tub, or take a leisurely stroll through downtown Cottonwood. Later that evening, You can choose to hop over to Clarkdale, a mere 10 minute drive, for a night of rip roaring fun at the Blazin' M Ranch Chuckwagon Supper and Live Western Stage Show [Click here for more details].

Cottonwood/Verde Canyon Railroad Drive to Williams
After enjoying an expanded continental breakfast, check out of the hotel and head towards the Verde Canyon Railroad for a memorable journey through the spectacular Indian ruins, trestles, and wildlife habitat of the Verde Canyon. Drive to Williams the night before your train trip. Check in to the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel after 3:00 p.m., which is located across from the train depot. The facility is a three-star hotel owned and operated by the Railway featuring an indoor pool and spa, workout room, and Spenser's Lounge, which has a 19th-century mahogany bar with a storied history. Note: every room has two queen size beds and can accommodate up to 5 people per room.

Enjoy a complimentary dinner for your entire party at Max & Thelma's Restaurant as you spend your evening in rustic Williams. Take a stroll down Route 66, just two blocks south of the depot. At 6,800 feet elevation, you can enjoy the fresh mountain air.

Williams to Grand Canyon to Williams
All aboard as the train departs Williams for the Grand Canyon! You'll travel the same 65-mile rail line that passengers first traversed more than a century ago. Enjoy the scenery as the elevation changes during the 2 hour and 15 minute trip. Arrive at the South Rim.

Once you de-board, you'll have the option of taking a scenic motorcoach rim tour that includes lunch [Click here for more details]. If you opt not to take a rim tour, you have over three hours to explore historic Grand Canyon Village. Most of the buildings that grace the South Rim were built by the railroad, including the El Tovar Hotel, built in 1905. Along the rim, you'll find historic sites, places to eat and shop, and of course, some of the most breathtaking views you'll ever see.

Grand Canyon Railway departs the Grand Canyon Depot on its way back to Williams. Relax in the comfort of your train car after seeing the Grand Canyon. The train pulls back into Williams; you'll then have your second dinner at Max & Thelma's, a short distance from the train platform. Adjourn for the evening in the comforts of the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel.
