Itinerary

Day 1: Anchorage
Upon your arrival in this vibrant an eclectic city, explore all that Anchorage has to offer. A modern city surrounded by spectacular wilderness with adventures just steps from the hotel, Anchorage has plenty to offer. Home to Alaska's largest selection of quality Alaska Native art and souvenirs such as finely crafted ivory, Native masks, and carved jade, you'll find abundant opportunities to shop; and with access to some of the freshest seafood in the world, you can enjoy plump, cold-water Kachemak Bay oysters, Alaska king crab, fresh-caught halibut, or wild Alaska salmon – the staple of Alaska seafood, for your evening meal. Anchorage has it all! And no sales tax! Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 2: Anchorage to Seward

Board the Coastal Classic Train in the morning for your trip to Seward. Upon arrival in Seward, cruise to Kenai Fjords National Park in the afternoon. Glaciers, earthquakes, and ocean storms are the architects of this natural wonder. Ice worms, bears and whales make their home in this land of constant change, and the Native Alutiiq used these resources to nurture a life entwined with the sea.

Day 3: Seward to Girdwood
Start the day at the Alaska SeaLife Center, a non-profit marine science facility dedicated to understanding and maintaining the integrity of the marine ecosystem of Alaska through research, rehabilitation and public education. The Center's research facilities and naturalistic exhibits immerse visitors in the dynamic marine ecosystems of Alaska. Then, spend the afternoon on the Real Alaska Tour, take a dog sled ride, have lunch at an Alaskan roadhouse, and then cap it off with the Exit Glacier Tour in the afternoon. Board the Coastal Classic Train for your trip to Girdwood in the evening. Stay the night at the Alyeska Resort.

Day 4: Girdwood to Anchorage
Board the Glacier Discovery Train mid-morning for your trip to Spencer Glacier. Float among the icebergs and down the Placer River. A short train ride to Portage follows the float tour, then your will transfer from Portage to Anchorage by motorcoach in the late afternoon. Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 5: Anchorage to Denali
Board the Denali Star Train in the morning for your journey to Denali. With six million acres, Denali National Park & Preserve is larger than Massachusetts. Located in the heart of Alaska's magnificent and rugged interior, the park is home to majestic Mt. McKinley, North America's highest mountain. The Park also features glaciers, a sub-arctic ecosystem and an internationally designated biosphere preserve with moose, caribou, Dall sheep, grizzly bears and wolves. Alaska Cabin Nite dinner show is included for your evening's entertainment. Overnight Denali.

Day 6: Denali
Take the Back Country Adventure Tour and travel some 80 miles into the wilderness of Denali National Park and the heart of bear country. On the fully-guided tour, you'll get interpretation from your driver/guide, along with hours of wildlife spotting and spectacular scenery. If the weather cooperates, you'll see Mount McKinley up close. Stay the night in Denali.

Day 7: Denali to Anchorage
Take the wheel of a 4WD Jeep Wrangler and follow your guide on a spectacular off-road journey into Denali's backcountry. This 3.5-hour tour includes a hearty Alaskan snack, fabulous scenery, and lots of stories to take home. Then board the Denali Star Train and travel to Anchorage in the afternoon. Overnight in Anchorage.

 

Day 8: Anchorage
