Experience high excitement and whitewater with Mahay's Talkeetna Canyon Tour aboard the Talkeetna Queen! You will travel 50 miles roundtrip through the entirety of the lower Talkeetna Canyon.
Hold on tight as we take you through class 3 and 4 whitewater! Marvel at the sheer rock walls of the canyon that close in upon you while passing through stretches of river that have been narrowed to 10 yards by these canyon walls.
This is one of our high adventure trips, designed for the hardy adventurer wishing to experience the thrill of the ultimate Alaskan river experience.
Naturalists will acquaint you with the wildflowers and plants that grow in abundance along the river system and you will learn about the edible plants that were used by the Native Indians for cooking and medicines.
As you travel into the remote Alaskan wilderness you will have opportunities to view nesting bald eagles, beaver activity, and moose and you just might see black bear and grizzly bear roaming the shore. Stand in the splendor of Denali and the Alaska Range from a spectacular vantage point on the Susitna River!
This tour is for the more adventuresome soul. Please dress warmly and wear comfortable and sturdy walking shoes. Be sure to bring your camera to capture this incredible experience.
