Alpine Horseback Tour
Approximately 4 hours (nearly a 2 hour ride). This is the perfect ride for those who want a real taste of Alaska but who don’t want to be too saddle sore! Travel over country that was first discovered in early mining and hunting explorations and later became part of the National Park. Your savvy horse will carry you across the alpine tundra, through the taiga forest to an elevation of 2,500 feet and return through a beautiful ravine that melds back into the taiga. Stunning panoramic views will have you constantly reaching for your camera. Enjoy excellent natural history lectures and great chances to view wildlife, especially moose. This is a moderately physical activity involving good balance and posture. Not recommended for those with hip or knee problems or pregnant ladies. Minimum age 7 years.
