The Wonders of the Maya begins in Villahermosa, Tabasco and ends in Cancun, the Riviera Maya or back in Merida after breakfast at the Mayaland hotel in Chichén Itza.

The train route is Palenque – Campeche – Uxmal – Merida – Izamal – Chichen Itza, with luxury bus transfers in Villahermosa, Palenque, Chichen Itza, Cancun or Riviera Maya.

UNESCO has declared most of the archeological sites visited on Wonders of the Maya as World Heritage Sites.

Villahermosa
Arrive at Villahermosa’s Capitan Carlos A. Rovirosa Perez Airport. Bus transfer to La Venta, a museum and tropical park located on the edge of the Lake of Illusions. Visit the giant stone heads and 32 other figures carved by the Olmec civilization. Hotel check-in and lunch. Free afternoon to explore Villahermosa or enjoy the pool. Hotel dinner.

Villahermosa to Palenque
Hotel breakfast. Bus transfer to Palenque and a guided visit to this mesmerizing archeological site. Lunch at a typical Chiapas restaurant in Palenque. Hotel check-in and a free afternoon to relax or explore Palenque. Hotel dinner.

Palenque to Campeche
Board the EXPRESO MAYA in your way to Campeche. Enjoy a full breakfast a la carte in the “Merida” dining car while traveling to Campeche At midday, you will enjoy a full course lunch. Along the journey we will come across the Candelaria river where we will have the chance to visit the natural site and the surroundings. Hotel dinner.

Campeche
Hotel breakfast. Guided visit to the archeological site of Edzna and the Fort of San Miguel on a hilltop overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Lunch at a typical Campeche restaurant in the old city. Free afternoon to relax or explore the charming streets of this city by the sea and a sightseeing tour aboard the Campeche streetcar. Dinner in a downtown restaurant.

Campeche to Merida
Board the EXPRESO MAYA for a full breakfast a la carte. First stop: Maxcanu, with a short bus transfer to Uxmal, for a guided tour of this spectacular archeological site. Afterwards, board the EXPRESO MAYA to relax and enjoy an exquisite lunch while the train continues its journey. Arrive in Merida. Transfer to hotel. Hotel dinner.

Merida to Chichen Itza
Board the EXPRESO MAYA for a full breakfast a la carte. First stop: Izamal, for a guided visit of the 16th century Franciscan Monastery, San Antonio de Padua. Board the train for a light lunch and arrive at Chichen Itza for a guided tour. After the visit to Chichen Itza you will relax at the “Mayaland Hotel” at the entrance of Chichen Itza to enjoy a great dinner and later you will enjoy the light and sound show at the archeological site.

Chichen Itza
Hotel breakfast.. After breakfast at the Mayaland hotel, we offer a drop off to your own room in Cancun, the Riviera Maya or back to Merida .
